The answers to your questions

1.) Why should I use Hill Capital rather than a big Financial Planning Firm?
Put simply, independent, honest, well researched and individually tailored advice is what we pride ourselves on. Our culture and commitment to our client is set in stone across the firm. Many other firms do not have the same motives or practices, and the culture at many commission-oriented financial planning practices is entirely opposed to what we profess. At Hill Capital our client always comes first.

2.) Do you receive Commissions from the Investments you recommend?
Yes, in select cases we do, and in such cases they are rebated against your retainer fees. There are select instances (Insurance, Loans, Tax Structured Products) where commissions are not rebated, but this is clearly identified in our Financial Services Guide, and there are key reasons why we ordinarily retain these fees.

3.) How do I know how my investments are going?
As a client of Hill Capital you gain instant access to your Cash Management Trust, and Praemium Share Management portfolio via direct links on this website. You are able to see your account balances, and portfolio performance any time you like. We also provide routine reportage that attributes and demarcates the contributors to your overall performance. Our reports assist you in understanding how your assets are performing, and in assessing whether both your investment and life goals are being adequately met through your portfolio.

4.) Do I need to invest in Shares to be a client?
While most of our clients have experience dealing in shares, and often sizable existing portfolios, you do not need to have any Shares, or necessarily wish to have any exposure to Equities in order to become a client. We find that our wide range of wealth building strategies are able to assist a wide range of people.

5.) Are there any barriers to leaving if I don’t like the advice I received?
No, we actively reduce barriers.

6.) Will my retainer fees automatically rise as the value of my assets increase?
Unlike commission-based models, our fees have no direct relationship to the size of your Assets. We assess fees based initially on an estimate of our costs relative to the value we can contribute. Going forward, we apply a combined retrospective-prospective approach in consultation with you. We identify and convey the value we’ve been able to contribute over the preceding year. We again place the onus on ourselves to identify the ongoing value we can deliver, and attribute a new annual fee reached by mutual agreement.
